Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), the independent statutory agency established by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand Act 1991, published in August 2010 an updated fact sheet about aspartame. This edition reflects the latest review by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Advisory Forum that concluded that there was no new evidence to suggest that EFSA should reconsider its previous opinions that aspartame is safe.
